Happy Juneteenth to you! 🎉🎉🎉
Today is a day for all Black Americans to celebrate! No matter what you think about this country that we call the United States of America, this *IS* home!
This is our land, and we have as much right to celebrate our day just as everyone else celebrates July 4th.
Our ancestors fought, achieved, discovered, lived, and died on this land.
Our ancestors’ hopes, dreams, blood, sweat, and tears are all over this land.
Our ancestors made this place a HOME even when the law didn’t recognize them as citizens.
There's NO WAY that I'll ever allow anyone to tell me that this isn't my home!
This is the land that my parents, grandparents, great-grandparents, great-great grandparents, etc. called home.
And, therefore, THIS IS HOME.
And that's nothing for any of us to be ashamed of.
We know who we are...
This is where we are *really* from...
And this land is RIGHTFULLY OURS!
We built this!
We are Black Americans, and this is HOME! 🏠🏠🏠
